People would like to run faster always think about this question. The speed of running depends on two factors, cadence and stride length. Should I increase the stride length or increase the cadence in order to run faster?
We have to look at our cadence first. If your cadence is lower than 180/min, you should increase your cadence instead of stride length. There is survey done by expert, finding that most of the top runners have cadence around or higher than 180/min. The other point you need to know is that, for distance running, increase the cadence and shorten your stride length will save your energy, that means you can run easier and longer with the same pace by increasing the cadence and shorten your stride length.
